Canada Bay reaches Fiji

Canada Bay Club is proud of its long-term sponsorship of junior sporting groups, supporting community initiatives and contributing funds to local events. We always strive to make a difference and recently we sponsored an initiative that reached outside the inner west area. We extended a helping hand to Inner West local and Canada Bay Club member, Tegan Anthes. Tegan had been looking at various volunteering opportunities when a friend told Tegan about her experience with Habitat for Humanity, building a home in Nepal. So in 2016, Tegan joined the Habitat for Humanity team for a building project in Fiji.

Every Thursday, Canada Bay Club hosts the Director’s Raffle in the Sports Lounge to support charities that help those in need throughout the community. Last year, we donated almost $40,000 back to the community through a variety of charities that we chose: one for nearly every month of the year.

How To Apply For A Community Funding

In the 2014-2015 financial year, Canada Bay Club distributed more than $400,000 to community organisations in the Five Dock area. Through this funding, local schools purchased books and laptops. Sporting teams bought jerseys and sporting equipment and paid for first aid officers to attend their games. Other community groups used the funding to provide social group activities and outings for their members.
