Ho Ho Ho! Have your calendars at the ready. It’s time for lights, carols and festivities galore! The Canada Bay Club has researched the celebrations leading up to Christmas Day. Read on to find out what’s happening in your local community.

Kick off December by singing along to the carols in your local park, strolling the lights through the city and Martin Place, or making Christmas fare at community centres across Sydney. Not only does the City of Canada Bay have plenty to keep you entertained in the lead up to Christmas, there are lots of fun things to do and try. You’ll be feeling the spirit of Christmas in no time.

Makers Market Christmas Edition

Cross off your Christmas shopping list in no time at the designer Pop Up Maker’s Market just down the road in Burwood. With a huge selection of handmade craft and lifestyle products to choose from, there’s a present for everyone.

Alexandria Village Christmas Concert

This free family-friendly event not only has loads of entertainment, singing and dancing on offer, Santa will pay a visit, there are crafts and activities for the kids, a sausage sizzle and a Santa stocking available to purchase on the day, with all proceeds going to The Guide Dogs NSW/ACT!

Carols in the Park

Sing all your favourites at Carols in the Park at Burwood. The stage will be set for all the traditional tunes as well as entertainment, a jumping castle, fireworks and, of course, our favourite jolly guy, Santa. Take your picnic blanket and settle in for a lovely evening with the family.

Make your own gift-wrapping

Head to the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre to get crafty and make your own Christmas wrap from reused materials. The good people from Reverse Garbage will be on hand to give their tips on how to use the materials for the best results, plus if you’re happy with your efforts you can buy a kit on the day and make more at home.

Canada Bay Club in Sydney's Inner West has been a meeting place for the local community for more than 50 years. Since opening in 1966, the culturally diverse club has grown froma small social sports centre to a club with state-of-the-art function rooms, two restaurants, live entertainment, kids' arcade, and health and fitness classes for its 20,000+ members.
