Does your child play in a local sporting group? Canada Bay Club believes these grassroots organisations provide so much support, guidance and health education for our children, which is why the club donated more than $500,000 to community groups, schools and local sporting clubs in 2016. We’re committed to championing our up-and-coming young sportspeople. From rugby league, to soccer and netball, no sport is ignored at Canada Bay Club. We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve built in the Inner West and constantly strive to help enable a healthy, active lifestyle for the next generation of community members and athletes. Take a look at just a few of the groups we’ve donated to, supported and cheered on… you may discover the right sports group for your children in this local line-up.
Abbotsford Juniors Football Club
Tim Cahill. Harry Kewell. Tom Rogic. These Aussie soccer stars are idols for young footballers everywhere and for those who play with Abbotsford Juniors, it all starts with kicking the ball at their home ground, Campbell Park, Chiswick. Several years ago, these fields enjoyed a huge upgrade, with the installation of light towers – to help with training all year round – a costly task but one the club could commit to thanks to its sponsors. Abbotsford Juniors Football Club is over 50 years old now, but with junior boys and girls comps going strong, we’re sure it’ll be around for another 50!
Wests Junior Rugby Club
St Luke’s Oval at St Luke’s Park is home to the Wests Junior Rugby Club. It’s there you’ll find kids aged from Under 6s to the senior Under 16s and 17s running around, proudly wearing the club colours of black and white, taking on their competition with passion and sportsmanship every weekend. Teaching the laws of rugby to the next generation is a task the Wests Junior Rugby Club has proudly undertaken to pass on the very best skills, knowledge and advice to the youth of the sport and Canada Bay Club is right there beside them, every step of the way!
Leichhardt Juniors Rugby League Club
Hailing from King George Park in Rozelle, these fierce junior league players personify their team logo – the tiger – with their commitment and passion for the game. Fifty years old this year, the Leichhardt Juniors Rugby League Club is a force to be reckoned with on any league field with teams competing in all junior age groups and previous grand final representatives among them, to boot! Canada Bay Club supports junior sport and we support Leichhardt Juniors… Roar!
Five Dock All Saints Netball Club
Formed as a result of the amalgamation of the All Hallows and St Marks netball clubs, All Saints has become the recognised club for local netball for more than a decade. As one of the largest junior netball clubs in the Inner West, All Saints is proud of the diversity of young players from across the area, who have come together to play under the one banner and are continually giving back to their loyal players with programs such as the popular youth netball clinics. Canada Bay Club is proud to be associated with this club, another wonderful local initiative, which invests in our future sport stars.
Leichhardt Tigers Junior Soccer Club
As one of the most prominent grassroots soccer clubs in the Inner West, the Leichhardt Tigers Junior Soccer Club has been training rising stars and serious young footballers to strive, try, live and breathe soccer for 60 years, producing the most Socceroos and Australian Team Captains of any other football club in the country. From U3s to opens teams, you’ll find the Leichhardt Tigers Junior Soccer Club players running around at Algie Park, Haberfield, week in, week out, using training equipment and wearing uniforms provided by the financial support of Canada Bay Club. Let’s hear it – “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie…”
